Recipe Garlic and Sesame Seed Bread Sticks
Good day to you!
Here is a recipe for another great aperitif. Once you start eating them you'll have trouble stopping!
Method
Peel the garlic clove and slice as thinly as possible.
Heat water in a saucepan, bringing to a simmer.
Pour the warm water into a small bowl and add the fresh yeast
Stir well, until the yeast has completely dissolved in the water.
In a large bowl, place the flour, the chopped garlic, chopped onion, salt, sugar, sesame seeds, oil and add the water with the yeast.
Mix well and knead into a ball.
Cover the ball with a tea towel and leave it close to a warm surface for 20 minutes to rise.
Split into four pieces and roll out with a rolling pin.
Cut into 20 cm by 1 cm strips making them slightly cylindrical in shape, and place on greaseproof paper on a baking tray.
Cook at 200 ºC (400 ºF) for around 15 minutes, or until golden and crunchy.
FINISHING THE DISH:
Place the bread sticks in a glass, or in a bowl, and serve with grated tomato with salt and oil.
TIPS FROM THE CHEF::
- Bread sticks are great with Iberian cured ham or with some Salmorejo (cold soup)...
- These crunchy bread sticks add texture to a dish, such as salads, as well as being great for decorating.
- Melt chocolate until liquid and then submerge half a bread stick in it to get a half-and-half chocolate bread stick. Sweet and savoury!
